Bible Stories for Heathen Children
I'm Robbie, and I tell family-friendly, fun, and somewhat irreverent retellings of Bible stories for kids who aren't already familiar with them. I couldn't find the stories told as myth without attempts at indoctrination, so I'm trying to do that. The audience I always have in mind for my stories are my two brilliant and sarcastic children, ages 8 and 9. Gideon is not the mighty warrior you might expect, but he was the mighty warrior they needed. Apparently.
The story of Gideon features: a mighty hero who hides from his enemies and needs his dad to bail him out, a set of miracles involving a sheep’s wool and the morning dew, a test where soldiers have to leave the army if they don’t drink water a weird way, and a dream about a tent being destroyed by a loaf of bread. Also featuring a legitimately brilliant surprise attack.
